Step 3: There you will see a resolution field. The value you need to enter in the Resolution field is “72” if you just want to use the image on a computer screen. You can also enter a value of “300” if you are thinking about printing the image. You can also reduce the size of the images by entering smaller values in the other fields which are Width and Height.

Step 4: Make sure that the value next to “Pixel Dimension” is set at 2M. Finally, press “Ok” button and confirm the changes you have just made. If the size of your image is still not less than 2M, then go back to the previous step and enter even smaller values in Width and Height

  • There is a blue colored button which you need to click and then select “Open”. Browse and open your JPEG file.
  • Next, click the Home tab on the toolbar and press the Resize
  • On the new window you see on your screen, check the box saying “Maintain Aspect Ratio”. Further, you will select the Pixels option and then enter smaller values in the fields “Horizontal” and “Vertical”. When you are done making changes, press “Ok” button.
  • There is a blue colored button on the top left side. Click that button and select Save.
  • Go to your JPEG file, right-click it and choose “Properties” and have a look at the “Size on disk” label. If the value was given there is 2MB or less then it means that size of your image has been reduced. In this case, you have achieved what you wanted to confirm your changes by clicking OK button. If this is not the case then go back to the previous step and try entering even smaller values in the Width and Height

  • First of all click “File” in the top menu bar and then choose Open. Browse and open your JPEG file.
  • In the menu bar, click Image and choose Resize. You will see a new window on your screen. Here you will check the “Lock aspect ratio”, “Resize all layers” and “Resample using” boxes. There is a drop-down menu next to “Resample Using” box and choose the “Smart-size” option.
  • Just enter the value of “72” to use the image on your computer screen. But if you are thinking about printing the image then enter a value of “300”. You can also see Width and Height fields in which you need to enter smaller values in order to reduce the dimension. Finally press Ok
  • To save your work, click File in the menu bar and click Save.
  • Go to your JPEG file, right-click the file and click properties. Have a look at the “Size on Disk” label. You have achieved your target if the value is 2MB or less. It means you are don and you can click Ok button. But you will have to go back to the last step if the target of 2MB is not achieved. Just go back and enter even smaller values in Width and Height You will surely achieve what you want.
