Pop Settings for Yahoo Mail

You can also use Pop settings to access Yahoo Mail in desktop or mobile app. Pop is different from IMAP discussed above. It basically downloads the copies of your email and not the original emails.

POP Server

  • Server – pop.mail.yahoo.com
  • Port – 995
  • Requires SSL – Yes

SMTP Server

  • Server – smtp.mail.yahoo.com
  • Port – 465 or 587
  • Requires SSL – Yes
  • Requires TLS – Yes
  • Requires Authentication – Yes

Adding Yahoo Account to Android using IMAP

Read the instruction given below to learn how to add Yahoo account to Android using IMAP.

  • Touch the Email icon on your Android screen.
  • Provide your login information and then touch Manual Setup
  • You will be prompted to select the type of account from which you will choose ‘IMAP’ account.
  • Enter your username and password for incoming server settings. Use the settings given above

    • Port – 993
    • Requires SSL – Yes
  • Touch Next
  • Now, you will provide your login information for outgoing server settings
  • Server – smtp.mail.yahoo.com
  • Port – 465 or 587

  • Now is the time to give your account a name and enter your display name as well
  • Touch Done
